Fernanda Melchor's Hurricane Season, translated by Sophie Hughes was originally published in 2017. The edition I read was published in 2020 by Fitzcarraldo Editions.
The language in this book flowed, without traditional paragraphs it was ruminative and the subject matter was difficult, adult, challenging. I enjoyed the multiple narrators, the piecing together of a story and the sense that this was a contemporary fable.
