Mrs Death Misses Death by Salena Godden, published by Canongate Books in 2021.
It was hard to pick a book from the #UnitedKingdom but I’ve been reading a bit more British fiction in the last couple of months and finally came across this novel. An unusual, contemporary story written by a poet with a diverse cultural heritage, that speaks of our cities and culture in the United Kingdom today. I thought this novel fit our experience of the last few years and was interspersed with snippets of history too.
